Summer classes are now open for enrollment! 

Get creative! Sign up online to join a scheduled class! Full tuition is due upon registration to reserve your seat. A full refund less a 10% registration fee will be given if you withdraw from a class more than 48 hours prior to the first day of class. No refund will be given after that time. A minimum of 3 students is required to hold a class. We reserve the right to cancel classes due to inadequate enrollment and other circumstances beyond our control. In the event of a cancellation a full refund will be given.

Advanced Open Studio with Gabe Ohlson

Make pottery in a relaxed setting while getting some extra support with the skill or project you’re struggling with. Whether it’s pulling the walls, trimming, making handles, or building a teapot, you can join one or more of these 3-hour sessions hosted by Gabe Ohlson, and he will offer his assistance and insights to help you get there. This program has a more relaxed pace than the regular classes, since everyone works independently and is not confined to the same firing schedule.  Seats are limited, so please sign up in advance. Available for pottery students who have taken a minimum of 10 hours of pottery classes at the North Conway League of NH Craftsmen. These sessions do not include clay or firing, but finishing may be achieved through Open Studio and OS firing fees. 3-hour sessions.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Centering Clinic with Stuart Webb

BOOK A SEAT!

 

Led by Stuart Webb, this 2-hour wheel throwing clinic focuses specifically on the goal of centering clay. If you struggle with wobbly pots, this clinic is for you! Learn centering techniques including coning and grounding to center your clay quickly and effortlessly. This class does not include clay or firing, but finishing may be achieved through your Open Studio membership. Firing fees apply. 2-hour class.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Throwing Tall Clinic with Stuart Webb

Led by Stuart Webb, this 2-hour wheel throwing clinic focuses specifically on getting more height out of your clay. Stuart will offer pulling techniques, hints and tricks to help you grow your pot and stand your clay up tall. Get straight to the crux and leave your heavy skirted pottery behind. Make tall forms with lift! This class does not include clay or firing, but finishing may be achieved through your Open Studio membership. Firing fees apply. 2-hour class.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Handles Clinic with Stuart Webb

Led by Stuart Webb, this 2-hour clinic focuses specifically on making handles for your pottery. Stuart will offer pulling, shaping, and attachment techniques, as well as hints and tricks to help you create beautiful curves and interesting handle designs. This class does not include clay or firing, but finishing may be achieved through your Open Studio membership. Come prepared with some trimmed pots to attach handles to if desired. Firing fees apply. 2-hour class.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: Beginner-Intermediate

Teapots and Lids with Stuart Webb

An advanced class for potters who are ready for the next step!  Led by Stuart Webb, students in this class will learn a variety of different approaches to making spouts and lids for a variety of vessels.  Explore covers for casseroles, teapots, sugar bowls and more! Two 10-hour classes are recommended as a prerequisite for this advanced class. Tuition includes up to 10 lbs of clay, materials and firings. 10-hour class.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: Intermediate-Advanced

Handbuilding with Darcy Kane

BOOK A SEAT!

Learn to make pottery with slabs in this 3-week handbuilding class with Darcy Kane. Hand-build a baking dish using a pattern, and then design a dish of your own! Students in this class will learn slab rolling, texturing/surface embellishment, cutting, forming, and attachment techniques, as well as pattern adaptation to create a dish with a new unique shape. Tuition includes up to 6 lbs of clay, materials and firings. 8-hour class.  Ages: teen-adult.  Level: beginner-Intermediate
